History of Physimed
Founded by Dr. Albert Benhaim and by Mr. Gilles Racine, Physimed Health Group has operated since 1988 in the field of occupational health and safety.
Physimed experienced a progressive and sustained growth over the years. Today we service more than 500 client-companies.

In the beginning
Since 1990, we have implemented a comprehensive medical check-up program for managers and corporate executives, thus facilitating their accessibility to a periodic health exam focusing on prevention and optimization of their health.
In 1995, the inauguration of our travel health clinic enabled our corporate customers to receive the necessary protection when travelling abroad.
In 1998, Physimed became the first healthcare organization in North America to receive ISO-9002 certification.
By 2000, Physimed was one of the largest service providers in occupational health and safety.
In 2005, Physimed became the first network clinic in Quebec, ensuring patients a continuous accessibility of services, 365 days per year.
In 2006, in partnership with the team of urologists from McGill University, Physimed developed a center of excellence in urology, with multiple diagnostic and therapeutic services available on site.
A successful partnership
In 2008, Physimed joined the group of radiologists from McGill University to establish Physimed’s Imaging Center, which came to complement the radiology department that we operated since our opening.
As such, our imaging center, one of the most sophisticated in Canada, now includes magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computerized tomography (CT Scan), ultrasound, bone densitometry and mammography in addition to digital radiology. These new technologies allow us to push further the investigations of our patients for better care.
A multidisciplinary medical center
In 2009, Physimed became the first multidisciplinary clinic to work in a paperless environment where all the medical records are fully computerized.
In 2010, in partnership with McGill radiologists, Physimed continued to innovate with its new cancer screening center and joined the fight against cancer by facilitating the population’s access to screening for different cancers.
