Digital Radiography
Digital radiography is a medical imaging technique that uses X-rays to produce 2D (two dimensional).images. The radiographic images are obtained due the difference in opacity of tissues to X-rays. Radiography is an essential diagnostic exam in many areas of medicine. Digital radiography allows reducing the dose of X-rays used and obtaining quality images that can be studied using a computer. Radiography allows the study of :
- skeleton and joints (fractures, dislocations, arthrosis, malformations, effusions)
- abdomen (gallstones or kidney stones, signs of gastrointestinal obstruction or perforation)
- chest (pulmonary tuberculosis, pneumonia, lung cancer, pneumothorax, pleurisy, heart anomalies)
