Physimed Health Group has always recognized the need for medical services available to patients on a more urgent basis.
The consultations without appointment are available to address specific problems that require prompt medical attention. Thus, our walk-in clinic is not the place where you do your medical check-up.
The family medicine clinic at Physimed is intimately linked to the walk-in clinic. Therefore, almost all family doctors from Physimed are on a rotation-schedule at the walk-in clinic. It is thus possible that the physician that sees you at the walk-in clinic might be your actual family doctor.
At Physimed, each patient has a unique file where all medical information of the patient is found, whichever the services that were consulted in our center. Therefore, the doctor on call at the walk-in clinic has access to your medical record. If necessary, he may even schedule an appointment with your doctor who will follow up the episode that led you to visit the walk-in clinic.
The walk-in clinic caters to patients who were not able to get an urgent appointment with their own family doctor from Physimed as well as patients from the community who don’t have a family doctor. We also accommodate patients who have a family doctor outside Physimed, but wish to consult for an urgent situation.
Our walk-in clinic is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including holidays. Therefore, the patients of our clinic suffering from an acute health problem (including: wound repair, stitches, lacerations, etc.) do not have to visit a hospital emergency room to see a doctor. However, it is clear that during major emergencies when patient’s life is at risk, it is best to go directly to the hospital.
The waiting time at the walk-in clinic may obviously vary due to a multitude of circumstances that are often beyond our control (such as epidemics of influenza, gastroenteritis, etc.). Please be assured that Physimed is doing its best to treat you as quickly as possible.
By consulting our walk-in clinic instead of other medical clinics, your medical file at Physimed will contain all necessary information related to the situations which led you to visit the walk-in clinic, allowing your family doctor from Physimed to better follow up on your health condition.
